The Drums of Dracula

Novel by Robert Lory 1974.

Another simply though efficiently plotted entry into Robert Lory's Dracula Returns series. This fifth novel follows Jenny Harmon, niece of Dracula's controller, as she takes time off from college to study voodoo in Jamaica. Staying at the house of a rich friend of her uncle Damien's, naturally she soon gets kidnapped by voodoo cultists who demand a large ransom. But Damien Harmon has his own weapons, including Count Dracula himself, still willingly under Harmon's control due to their bet in The Hand of Dracula, and promptly ignores their demands for half a million dollars and heads straight to Jamaica to sort them out.

Tense but basic, written well in the pulp tradition but still only set in a bare minimum of locations, this is another tacky but worthwhile entry into Damien Harmon's fight against crime. Pretty much exactly what you would expect from a pulp Dracula novel set in voodooland.
