She missed out on so much, some would say,
dutifully tending her small corner of life.
Marriage passed her by. The arts were
a near-closed book.
Yet if lambs, if cows, if pigs could speak
they would rise up and call her blessed.
If house and garden could sing
they would make heavenly music
